Chrissy Clair

Chrissy Clair started dancing at Ballet Arts Center in Farmington, under the direction of Kimberly Gavin Anderson, at a very young age. During this time, she fell in love with dance and knew it was something she was passionate about. In high school, Chrissy made the decision to pursue dance as a career. From there, she started to expand her horizons and went to summer intensives at Nashville Ballet and American Ballet Theater. Her senior year she took classes at Center of Creative Arts (COCA) as well as her home studio. After graduating high school, Chrissy continued her education and dance studies at Webster University’s Department of Dance. Her thesis work “shades of crimson” was to be presented at American College Dance Association in March 2020 but the conference was canceled due to Covid-19. She graduated in 2020 with a BFA in Dance, receiving departmental honors. Chrissy returned to Webster as an Alumni choreographer for their New Works Concert in fall 2020. Chrissy now dances professionally and teaches around the St. Louis area. The last four summers she has danced in Jocob Henss residencies: “do NOT go gentle” (2020), “Weigh Station” (2021: Josiah Gunderson), and “Space Station” (2022), (2023: Nicole Kennett). This past February, she performed in “…and everything stays the same…”, an independent show by Emily Duggins Ehling. Chrissy is currently a company member at RESILIENCE Dance Company and is currently in her third season!

Miss Chrissy is so excited to share her knowledge and love for dance with the students this year at DDC!
